What Ask Bob keeps. When you ask Bob a question, the site keeps the question and Bob's answer for 90 days, then deletes them automatically. It also keeps the page you asked from, the language, and whether Bob could answer. Robert reads them to see what people want to know and to fix answers Bob gets wrong.
What it removes first. Email addresses, phone numbers, card numbers and links with keys in them are replaced with a marker before anything is saved. Names and street addresses can't be removed reliably, so please leave them out.
What it never keeps. No IP address, no cookies, and nothing that links one visit to the next. If you tick "Don't keep my question", nothing from that question is saved.
Who answers. Bob's answers are written by Claude, a model made by Anthropic. Your question is sent to Anthropic to write the answer, under its commercial terms, which don't allow it to train its models on what you send. Robert doesn't use questions to train any model and doesn't sell or share them.
Visits. The site counts page views, how far down and for how long a page is read, where a visit came from (the linking site or campaign tag), and which buttons, links and full-size screens are used, with a random id that lasts only while the tab is open. To count a return visit without following you, your browser keeps only how many visits it has made and the day of the last one. Page speed is measured by Vercel Speed Insights. No IP address is kept; the only cookie is the language you choose, if you use the language switch.
Deleting a question. Nothing kept is tied to you, so to remove a question, email Robert at mainbob@get-a-bob.com with roughly when you asked it and what it said, and he'll delete it.
